Education

The National Trust of Australia (WA) has developed an inquiry-based education program that facilitates heritage education by using National Trust properties as a major resource. Entitled Tour Through Time, this program explores Western Australia through the nineteenth century. It offers accessibility to teachers and students in order to foster an interest in the past, and the historic environment and enduring heritage of the State of Western Australia. By engaging students there is the opportunity to help ensure that our State's heritage is valued and conserved for future generations.

Joint ventures with the Chung Wah Association, the Catholic Education Office and the National Trust have resulted in the production of Restricted Entry: Investigating Chinese Immigration to Western Australia and Hand-in-Hand: Thematic integrated units of work on the Chinese in Western Australia; and a partnership with the Government House Foundation of Western Australia resulted in the Tour Through Time: Government House resource packages.
