Community Service Project

The Community Service government initiative began in 2007 and was set up to help Western Australian secondary school students understand the value of giving service to the community.
The National Trust of Australia (WA) Education & Learning department has been working with schools to develop a Community Service program that:
• Helps students understand the value of heritage
• Benefits others
• Is purposeful and meaningful
• Provides opportunities for learning and reflection
• Produces material for an audience of similar age and ability

In 2007 the focus for the program is East Perth Cemeteries.
