Adopt a Grave Project
East Perth Cemetery was the first graveyard in Western Australia. Beneath its soil there lies the remains of many of the first pioneers of the state that we live in. It is our responsibility, as citizens of Australia and residents of WA, to preserve these historical graves. If it wasn’t for the people buried here, life in Western Australia would be very different to the way that we know it to be and appreciate it for being.
You, as the general community, can help to preserve this part of all of our history. All it will cost you is an hour of your own time for weeding and other presevation activities. You will have helped to preserve the most physical memories of WA’s first pioneers.
