Ben Carr

Ben is an Environmental Officer with the Catchments Branch of the Department of Environmental Protection based in Perth WA but active across the whole of the agricultural region of the state.

After completing a science degree from Murdoch University in 1985 he has worked for the Australian Trust for Conservation Volunteers, the Department of Conservation and Land Management, Environmental and natural resource consultants and has run his own consultancy business. His skills and experience are in the fields of conservation biology, landscape ecology, and ecological restoration.

He is currently a member of the National Trust of Western Australia Conservation Covenanting Committee, and the governments Inter Agency Working Group established for consideration of land clearing proposals.

Ben grew up on a small farm in the northern wheat-belt where he helped his father clear bush in the 1970's.
