Max Kitchell
Max Kitchell is head of the National Heritage Division in Environment Australia and as such, has responsibility for overall coordination of the NHT, national biodiversity policy, wildlife management through Wildlife Australia, management of the Bushcare Program and national natural resource management policy.
Prior to his move to Environment Australia, Max spent five years as Director of Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service, and concurrently, General Manager of Resource Management and Conservation. His early years in the public sector were spent in Victoria in various conservation and natural resource management positions including jobs as a soil conservation extension officer, senior research officer with the Land Conservation Council, Ministerial adviser, regional manager with the Department of Conservation and Environment and Director of the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research.
