Dr Wally Cox
Dr Wally Cox was appointed Acting Executive Director of the Department of Conservation and Land Management in November 1999 and confirmed in the position on 21 March 2000.
He was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the East Perth Redevelopment Authority from October 1995 until November 1999; Chief Executive Officer of the Subiaco Redevelopment Authority from April 1996 until November 1999; Managing Director of the Water Authority from 1989 until 1995 and Director, Department of Regional Development and the North West from 1983 until 1989.
Dr Cox is a former Commissioner of the State Planning Commission and a member of the Metropolitan and Country Planning Councils.
His qualifications include:- B.Sc. (Agriculture) University of WA Phd University of California
- Fellow, Australian Institute of Management FAIM, FAICD
- (Fellow Australian Institute of Company Directors), FST
- (Fellow Australian Academy of Science, Technology and Engineering)
Dr Cox joined the Public Service in December 1965. His initial career was in agriculture and included the management of the Ord Irrigation Project 1981-1983.
