RosesMore than 40 people took part in an exclusive tour and garden experience at historic Samson House in Fremantle on Sunday 17 July 2011.

Visitors to the National Trust property brought gardening gloves and secateurs and attended a sunny rose pruning demonstration by the Rose Society before taking to the task of cutting back about 60 rose bushes.

The garden blitz was followed by afternoon tea. Samson House was transferred from the Western Australian Museum to the National Trust in February 2010.

Samson House was the home of Fremantle’s longest serving mayor, Sir Frederick Samson. The property is highly significant in heritage values and includes buildings, landscape and intact collections.
