Old Perth Boys’ School located in the hub a bub of the St Georges Terrace business throng is both elegant and eye-catching.

Its style (Gothic Revival), refreshed limestone facade and new tuck pointing identify it as something special in the city heart – and it is. Old Perth Boys’ School is the only mid 19th century stone building surviving in Perth Central Business.

Vested in the National Trust’s care since 1979, it was the Trust’s headquarters through to 1986.

Constructed in 1854, the Perth Boys’ School was the first purpose built public school in Perth. It has historic links to Curtin University through Perth Technical College and Western Australian Institute of Technology (WAIT) which both occupied the premises at 139 St Georges Terrace.
