Description
Art Deco Heritage Appeal
The Art Deco and Modernist Society of Western Australia (ADMSWA) works to promote the appreciation, celebration, and conservation of Art Deco and Modernist architecture, art, and artifacts.
Established in 1987, the Society has played a key role in promoting community awareness and appreciation of the cultural heritage values of Art Deco and Modernism. Through its efforts, the Society has been central in preventing the loss of many at-risk places, resulting in well over 200 locations being listed on the National Trust’s List of Classified Places, many of which are now on the State Register of Heritage Places.
Your support will enable the Society to continue this important work and specifically to:
- Develop and deliver programs of public activities, such as Art Deco walking tours, cinema/theatre events, exhibitions, and other educational activities.
- Manage the archives of the ADMSWA to ensure their conservation and availability as an invaluable community asset and research resource.
- Assist in completing the history of the Society as a key contribution to the knowledge and awareness of Art Deco and Modernist heritage in Western Australia.
- Promote and engage the community in discussions on Art Deco and Modernist architecture, art, and artifacts.
- Develop an effective online presence to provide easy access to information about Art Deco and Modernist heritage and the work of the Society, with an emphasis on the appreciation, celebration, and conservation of Western Australian heritage.
All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
