Description
The building and its adjacent hall are listed on the State Register of Heritage Places and have been classified by the National Trust of Western Australia. Together, they are a valuable asset to the amenity and character of the Claremont area.
Conservation has been regularly carried out over the years to maintain this beautiful and historic building. A recent assessment by a heritage structural engineer has found that major work is now required to stabilise the south wall of the church and its foundations. The church is currently judged unsafe for worship and services are being held in the church hall.
The cost of the repairs is estimated to be over $300,000. St Aidan’s Church Council has established an appeal to carry out these works so that services of worship can be held once again in this heritage church.
